Who's the Nerd?
Isn't it obvious? I am. The song is about how I was writing a program, better than anything that you ever could, but then something went terribly wrong. Oh well, I'm a nerd. Setbacks like this won't get in my way.
Why?
Because. To my knowledge, no one in the world has ever written a song AND produced a music video about programming. I even did an internet search for it and came up with nothing. I like being the first one to ever do something, so I did.
When did you get the idea?
I got the idea for a song about progamming nearly a year before its completion. I ran the idea past the QBS visitors with a survey, and most seemed to like the idea. So, like all geniuses, I kept a notepad in the bathroom so that everytime I...um...sat there for a while, I picked it up and wrote down a few words for the song, an idea for the video, or even the melody for the song.
After about 3 months, I finally got most of the words and all of the music planned. Then I got myself a keyboard-synthesizer and played around with all sorts of rhythms and instruments until I found the ones that I likes. It took 3 days to perform the music properly. It's not that I took 3 full days to record it- I actually have a job and only a little time each day for that sort of thing.
When the music was finally recorded, I had to do the vocal recording. I played the song over and over to learn the words properly and made a preliminary recording of the song, which is what you heard part of in the message VOICE09.mp3. A few more months went by. I was not happy with the vocal recording, so I used a better microphone and actually set up "soundproofing" (blankets/pillows) around the room to muffle ambient noise. I got the whole song in a single take on the second try. I was going to just past pieces together, but it turned out I didn't have to.
It was only in the last two weeks of production that I shot takes and edited the video to it's completion. Now it is finished!
Can I get a DVD copy?
I am going to be producing the video to DVD (much better quality than the download version), complete with its customized cover. If I get enough requests, I will create an order form with a PayPal account (or something like that) so you can order your copy. I don't know about the price yet, and I won't even think about it until my site is being flooded with requests.

The program was ready FOR the final compile
But being so tired I had TOSLEEP for a WHILE
A little TIME$ later I quickly awoke FOR from my computer came GUI black smoke!
What happened NEXT had made me very unpleased
The computer caught fire because the hard drive had seized
I could NOT believe that all my programs were gone
So now I make backups of them from now ON.

Because I was a moron, all of my programs are gone
If you back up your work in CASE it all goes berserk (like mine did)
You could imply that you are smarter THEN I
